Rough Copy

kazeem, Sterling and Joey would like to Introduce Themselves to you as ROUGH COPY!!!

A Rough Cutting Edge, More Relatable Vocal Group...

Not often does the UK pull out talent that gets full marks on the vocal and performance score sheets until now.

This Dynamic Trio comprises the extremely talented Sterling, Joe and founding member Kazeem. These guys have bonded well together. Each member feeds off each other's drive and ambition to achieve worldwide success. They have quickly become well-learned performers and are ready to be unleashed, with their high intensity stage performance, outstanding vocal ability, hooky riffs, a strong melodic backbone & hard-edged R & B fused with catchy Hip Hop beats, defining their Music as Street But Sweet. The Rough Copy sound pulls together an infectious blend of influences ranging from R & B, Dance, Hip Hop, Soul to Mainstream Pop.

After an abundance of critical acclaim for their debut single “Candy Girl” which was released summer 2010, their second single entitled “Our Love” followed shortly thereafter. Although the song tackles a heart-rending subject lyrically, the second release took an upbeat and classic R &B approach, with a cool melodic flow, pulsing bass and impassioned vocal performance, making it an infectious track reminisce of classic 90’s R & B.

In 2010, Rough Copy also made the final 10 in the UK and Ireland St. Helier Urban Music Crown. The Urban Music Crown is an annual online award which is presented to the hottest unsigned act within the urban music genre. A statement from the boys read “We are very pleased to be in the final 10, which in itself, is recognition to what we have achieved so far this year”. In 2010 we also saw Rough-Copy collaborating with UK Grime artist Ghetts on his mixtape “Calm Before The Storm” and have also featured on his next album yet to be released.

Rough-Copy are certainly one to watch for 2012. They are destined for imminent success and are moving at an unstoppable pace as they continue to bolster their ever-increasing fanbase who are charmed by their music, effervescence, persona and charisma.

In early 2011, the boys released their 3rd single entitled “Express Train”. For this single, Rough Copy joined forces to devastating effect with upcoming production team 3mindz, who wrote and compose the track, taking the boys to a all new level with their highly distinctive beats and production style. “Express Train” is an epic sounding and melodic track with sinister hard edgy layered vocal snippets, all combined to create a slick, moody and atmospheric mid tempo R&B ballad; but with a cutting edge futuristic twist for 2011.

Rough Copy have performed at some of London's most prestigious music events and venues including British Music Week, Urban Music Awards, Download Music Awards, Music Video & Screen awards (MVSA), (BYA) Black Achievement Awards, T Festival, The Vibe Bar, The Hammersmith Lyric and Fairfield Hall. They have also supported US R & B group Jagged Edge, 112 and “Birthday sex” sensation “Jeremih” in their UK appearances. And have been blessed with the opportunity of supporting RNB legends Kc& JoJo at the Indigo 02 this 2012. Also Having taken part on in X.Factor 2012 and going through to Judges houses they where praised as favourites to win.

Presently the group are putting a lot of hard work in the studio to build their catalogue of songs. The pending tracks according to the group will have some surprising production collaborations with some of UK’s most promising young producers. A Lot more quality music to come from Rough Copy so watch this space...
